Captain Jessie grew up circumnavigating the banks of the Alabama River. He knew where all the good fishing holes were and how to noodle up a big cat. When he wasn’t on the banks of the Alabama he was fishing for bluegill in his local neighborhood pond with a holey John boat and a monkey for a cousin. When he got old enough to find his way to Dauphin Island he found out that there’s more fish in the sea than just ole blue cats. He started fishing with his family off shore for big snappers when the limit was more than just supper. They say Captain Jessie is the reason for the paltry limit of red snappers, amberjacks, triggerfish, and many more. He’s that good. He puts a toe in the water, and the fish start jumping into the boat. Legend has it that’s how he lost his left leg. A kraken was angry Captain Jessie was so successful at fishing that he put a toe in the water one day and the kraken sure enough took his leg. Captain Jessie vowed that day he would learn everything he could about fishing in the Gulf of Mexico. He has learned from books and from practice where to go for the right fish at the right time. When fishing with Captain Jessie you won’t forget the experience and want to keep coming back. Some say he’s the only one they trust in the deep waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Others just want an unbelievable story to write home about the legend of the pirate that met the Gulf Kraken.
